Another technique that many leaders and business professionals find helpful is to consider the audience. Some questions you could ask yourself before you have a difficult discussion include:

  1. What do I know about this person?

  2. What do I know about how this person communicates?

  3. What is the best time or place to communicate with this person?

Such questions will help you communicate effectively.
